INFANT "EARLY" DENTAL CARE
Why so early? What dental problems can a baby have?
Most importantly is to begin prevention early. Our biggest concern is Early Childhood Caries or formely called baby bottle caries. Once your child eats anything other than breast milk, erupted teeth are at risk for dental problems. With healthy teeth, your child will be able to chew better and have a healthy smile
When should i start cleaning
my baby's teeth?
You should begin cleaning the baby's gums with a soft infant toothbrush or cloth and water. As teeth begin to erupt, you should begin brushing with flouridated tooth paste and an age appropriate toothbrush. Use a "Smear" of toothpaste for children under 2, and a "Pea Size" amount for children 2-5 years old.
You should begin to wean your child from the bottle around 12-14 months old.
